Assistant Driller - North Sea (Cyber)
North Sea - Attractive ++ many benefitsOur client requires a number of Assistant Drillers (Cyber) to join their new rigs based in the North Sea
The Role
- Implement HSE related policies & procedures, and relevant authority regulations requirements
- Take active role in planning work for crew members before work commences, and include relevant personnel in the planning process
- Assign work to employees and ensure they are competent to fulfil their duties
- Operate drilling equipment in accordance with company procedures, agreed plans and manufacturers’ recommendations
- Measure accurately all down-hole tools, tubulars, and other equipment that are run in the well
- Follow inspections & preventative maintenance schedules and ensure equipment is properly maintained
- Contribute to the effective execution of mechanical lifting operations
- Complete and submit reports, logs, records and notes in accordance to procedures and instructions
- Assist with audits and follow up on audits to bring outstanding audit points to completion
- Relieve Driller as directed
- Liaise with service personnel onboard installation as necessary and ensure they perform operations safely and according to procedures
- Liaise with client representative as necessary
- Take active role with well control drills
- Perform emergency duties as per Station Bill and emergency procedures manual
The Applicant
- Must have 1 years experience as an Assistant Driller or relevant experience on offshore drilling units
- Cyberchair experience – minimum 1 year
- Offshore survival (OPITO)
- Offshore Medical (UKOG/UKOOA)
- Valid Well Control Certificate (IWCF)
- Thorough knowledge of drill floor operations, including the operation of all pipe handling equipment and tools.
- Competent in the performance of the functions of the Driller, and able to recognize the signs and symptoms of an actual or potential downhole problem and react appropriately to minimize or prevent a major incident.
