Our client, an internationally renowned Drilling Contractor who strives to continually invest in leading edge technology in order to service customer requirements, is now seeking a Barge Engineer
THE ROLE
- Planning of work with crews
- completion and submission of rig documentation, reports, logs, records and notes in accordance to procedures and instructions
- Implement the Company’s Management System, HSE related policies & procedures, and relevant authority regulations requirements
- Follow inspections & preventative maintenance schedules and ensure equipment (including safety equipment) is properly maintained
- Maintain variable deck loadings and organize and maintain deck and hull load distribution
- Ensure effective loading, stability and buoyancy of the rig
- Assure effective execution of mechanical lifting operations
- Serve as helicopter landing officer
- Supervise store rooms including housekeeping, i.e. verify that all spare parts are kept clean, dry, well maintained and tagged. Check all material receipts to rig and check that all material is directed to the appropriate party and/or storeroom.
- Assist with inventories of spare parts and material requisitions
- Direct material and/or personnel transfer from work boat
- Supervise daily sounding of bulk and cement system
- Liaise with regulatory agencies as appropriate Perform emergency duties as per Station Bill and emergency procedures manual
- Assist OIM with planning and executing effective drills
