Summary

Our Client requires a Well Interventions Manager to manage and supervise the Well Intervention Team on-board their newly commissioned intervention vessel in carrying out the planned well intervention program. This will include ensuring that the downhole instrumentation is maintained and fit for purpose according to the manufacturer’s specification and that the correct equipment for the intervention program is loaded into the Client system prior to subsea deployment. The well operations supervisor is also responsible for ensuring the integrity and quality of acquired well log and other relevant data.

The Well Operations Supervisor works closely with the Operations Supervisors and Client representatives to ensure that proposed well intervention programs are executed following defined procedures and in a timely manner.

The Role

  • Accountable for the overall execution of well intervention activities on client well
  • Manages the well intervention team ensuring they are provided with the necessary information, equipment and training required to perform their duties
  • Supervises the repair and maintenance of downhole instrumentation/hardware and ensure they are functioning properly according to the manufacturer’s specifications
  • Monitors upcoming well intervention programs to ensure the vessel is adequately equipped with the required downhold instrumentation, hardware, spare parts and consumables
  • Reviews the acquired data and ensures that logs are on depth and tool responses are as expected for the well condition and the reservoir being logged. Explains anomalous measurements and initiates appropriate investigations
  • Ensures that all well operations are documented according to the Company standards and that all internal and external reporting requirements are met.
  • Has responsibility for ensuring all team members are aware of the Company QHSE policies and procedures and external reporting requirements are met.
  • Makes recommendations for improving the Company system operationally by providing feedback to the Engineering Development Team.
  • Conducts performance reviews of well operations personnel and encourages personal development.


The Applicant

  • Qualified to BSc degree level or equivalent in relevant discipline
  • Minimum 5 years experience of managing interventions, logging, downhole conditions and make relevant operational decisions.
  • Experience of tool loading operations and surface tool checks, plug pulling and setting operations
  • Experience of explosives and radioactive tools handling and operations
  • Tool deployment risk management, responsible for tool deployment and in-hole operations
  • Able to effectively and efficiently operate the company safety management system in the work place.
  • Able to manage the Well Intervention team during emergency situations, to coach personnel and assess their skills and in the workplace
  • Able to implement effective management techniques in the workplace
  • Must possess good communication skills with the ability to liaise with the client and shore based management personnel
