Job Title:- Toolpusher

The Role
  • Ensures compliance with as well as HSE policies and procedures.
  • Makes decisions on drilling operations based on hole, equipment and environmental conditions.
  • Monitors rig-up, rig down and inspection of 3rd party equipment above deck below deck and on the rig floor.
  • Monitors the condition and preventive maintenance of all drilling and support machinery and ensures operational readiness of all equipment at all times through work observations and inspections.
  • Makes decisions on drilling progress based on threats to safety and accuracy of the drilling program.
  • Oversees the safe transfer of materials and personnel to and from the rig.
  • Carries out routine inspections and corrects or reports all abnormalities.
  • Takes action to safeguard personnel, the well, equipment and the environment during a fire or other emergency.
  • Supervises and oversees picking up, make up, breaking down and laying down of all tubulars ensures correct torque values are applied to connections.
  • Oversees runs and retrieval of riser and subsea blowout prevention (BOP) stacks.
  • Follows procedures for hang off and emergency disconnect as per Drilling Operations manual as required.
  • Monitors environmental protection per Drilling standards as well as local regulations. .
  • Assists in preparing the IADC reports and Toolpusher's Weekly Inspection Report.
  • Ensures the completion of all daily drilling report and daily pump report.
  • Maintains updated knowledge of all local regulations, codes and standards.

The Applicant
Must have 3 years+ experience as a Toolpusher with another drilling contractor on a Modular V Rig preferred

  • Valid, current offshore and survival certificates
  • Well Control Certificate at the supervisor's level is required.
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate an advanced knowledge of the overall direction and management of the safe and economical operation of an offshore drilling rig.
  • Must have an advanced level of mechanical knowledge of drilling equipment.
  • Must have good working knowledge of rigging procedures and break point limits.
  • Must have advanced safety knowledge.
  • Must pass pre-employment screening as well as random drug tests, as applicable per local laws.
